Coded with Love
Made with Code is a Google program encouraging diversity in the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. Less than 1% of high school girls consider a career in STEM, and Made with Code is working every day to change that fact.
As part of the effort, we launched the #CodedWithLove project on Valentine's Day 2016. It encouraged young coders to make their mark on Valentine's Day by designing a heart using an introductory programming language called Blockly. Created by Google with kids in mind, using Blockly does not require any previous coding experiences and teaches the user basic coding principles as s/he goes.
The hearts designed with Blockly were rendered in real-time using WebGL. Users could save their creations as GIFs and share them with friends and family as a token of love.
